Closer Faces

Divided, I stand
the lines on my paper
offer no room to breathe
as to which choice is safer
The longest known
or the new facination
while my heart is drawn
to far off destinations
Severed, there is no answer
staring at closer faces
covered by my guilt
a veil of my heart's laces
I'm safer alone
than out in the game
torn in two parts
never to be the same
